Census2020 CLE: What Every CHBA Member & Community Partner Should Know

  • 22 Jul 2020

  • GoToMeeting (invite sent to registrants)

Census2020 is in full swing and a complete census count is critical to Colorado getting its fair share of federal funding to support a variety of community needs from roads and schools to health care.

But not all parts of Colorado are achieving high census response rates. A full count requires community engagement, partnership and trusted voices to ensure all populations are counted.

As such, the CHBA Public Policy Committee has pulled together trusted representatives from community partners the U.S. Census Bureau, Together We Count, and Common Cause to provide CHBA Members with an overview of the Census2020 efforts and key legal issues and questions.

This is a similar CLE presentation as one delivered in July 2019 but aimed at CHBA Members and community partners throughout Colorado. To that end, this will be a virtual CLE hosted via GoToMeeting (registration details will be sent by cromo@lewisbess.com once you register).

Attendees will learn:

  • What is the census and why is it important?
  • 2020 Census timeline and process
  • Challenges of reaching hard to count areas/populations in Colorado
  • FAQs on Census forms
  • Implications of 2020 Census on redistricting in Colorado
