Associate Attorney – Criminal Defense

About the Role
Garcia Gutierrez Law Group is seeking a relentless, strategic, and “Bold” Associate Attorney to join our criminal defense practice. In this role, you won’t just be practicing law—you will be a partner to our clients during the most challenging moments of their lives. You will handle a diverse caseload ranging from municipal traffic matters and DUIs to complex state and federal felonies.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation & Advocacy: Represent clients in all stages of criminal proceedings, including arraignments, bond hearings, evidentiary hearings, and jury trials.

Case Management: Manage a full caseload from inception through resolution, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.

Strategy Development: Conduct thorough legal research and investigations to develop innovative and aggressive defense strategies.

Client Relations: Provide compassionate, professional, and clear communication to clients, ensuring they feel supported and informed throughout the legal process.

Professional Defense: Assist in specialized cases involving law enforcement, military personnel, and medical professionals, focusing on both criminal outcomes and professional licensure protection.

Negotiation: Negotiate effectively with District Attorneys and Federal Prosecutors to secure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD): From an accredited law school.

Licensure: Must be a member in good standing with the Colorado Bar (or eligible for immediate admission via reciprocity).

Experience: 2–5 years of experience in criminal defense or prosecution is preferred, but high-potential candidates with a passion for litigation will be considered.

Ability to think quickly on your feet in a courtroom setting.
