Biography

In 2021, Governor Polis appointed Ms Wilson to be the County Court Judge for Routt County in Colorado’s 14th Judicial District. Prior to her appointment, Judge Wilson was in private practice and contracted as an Alternate Defense Counsel attorney. After graduating law school at age 40, Judge Wilson spent nearly a decade representing people charged with felonies and misdemeanors for the Colorado State Public Defender in their Fort Collins office. Judge Wilson received a full merit scholarship to attend law school at the University of Denver and graduated with academic honors. Ms. Wilson also received a merit scholarship to attend the University of Southern California where she graduated cum laude with Bachelor degrees in international relations and broadcast journalism. Judge Wilson grew up in a Marine Corps household living on the east and west coasts. She attended high school and college in Southern California and moved to Colorado with her young family in 1994. She moved to Steamboat Springs in 2013 and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, youngest daughter, and her beloved golden retriever.
